Bạn đang xem: A foodie's guide to da nang

*

In its essence, Da Nang is a city that represents a new, interconnected world. The Central Vietphái mạnh city is a stew – a combination of native Vietnamese, expats from all corners of the world and an inordinate amount of South Koreans on holiday from cities like Seoul & Busan. And that’s not counting the assortment of crazy, rich Asian tourists looking lớn bask on the beach, play golf & live sầu large.

Asian tourists floông chồng khổng lồ downtown Da Nang to lớn watch the city’s Dragon Bridge literally spit fire and water or stop for a visit on their way khổng lồ see the world-famous Golden Bridge at über-popular Bana Hills. However, many western tourists skip or pass through Da Nang quickly as they drift toward the historic, old world charm of Hoi An.

*
Many Korean tourists are so excited when they arrive sầu in Da Nang that they walk into lớn the Vietphái mạnh Sea while still wearing their clothes & shoes.

As for us, we’re drawn to the quiet (by Vietphái mạnh standards) Da Nang beach, fast mạng internet & eclectic food options. We’re not alone. Da Nang has a burgeoning digital nomad community giving the thành phố new life.

*
Da Nang’s Dragon Bridge lights up và spits fire và water on weekend nights. It’s quite the spectacle.

Da Nang for Digital NomadsDa Nang rivals Chiang Mai as a top đô thị for digital nomads in Southeast Asia thanks khổng lồ the city’s reasonably priced food, apartments, mạng internet và SIM cards. Add a sandy beach and an abundance of third wave coffee cafes (see below) to the phối, và Da Nang is hard lớn beat among muốn digital nomad cities.

Da Nang Food Scene

*
There’s no shortage of good food in Da Nang. Banh Xeo is one of our favorite local specialties.

Traditional Vietnamese food in Da Nang is a key reason that we chose lớn spover over four months living & working in Da Nang. Located in the center of the country, places to eat in Da Nang feature regional specialties as well as countrywide Vietphái nam food favorites.

Dig deeper and you’ll find top Da Nang restaurants that push the envelope from global cuisine khổng lồ fine dining.

*
Restaurants are friendly in Da Nang. Pictured here are Chizuru Tanaka và Chef Jackie at now closed Fish Dance Cafe.

When we consider the combination of family-run storefront noodle stands, corner Banh Mi hawkers, burger and barbecue joints along with notable world-class, gastronomic restaurants, we can confidently exclayên ổn that “We love sầu Da Nang”!

Da Nang Food Guide

*
If you’re craving a certain food, you’ll likely find it in Da Nang. As for us, we often crave sushi.

Da Nang is a sprawling city with cthua thảm lớn 1.5 million residents not counting the non-stop flow of visitors. Though much of the action happens in the busy thành phố center, don’t underestimate the beach side of Da Nang.

In the shadow of majestic Son Tra, beach resorts lure a large number of Korean tourists who love sầu to eat well while on holiday. Korean BBQ restaurants serving copious amounts of meat with sides of kimđưa ra abound in the city’s thriving restaurant scene. The Koreans are also discerning about their coffee, which is perfectly fine with us.

*
The coffee scene in Da Nang transcends traditional Vietnamese Ca Phe Sua with young, third wave sầu coffee roasters sourcing top-notch beans from all over the world.

Although Da Nang’s thành phố center is known for having better food selections, we’ve sầu discovered amazing and strange twists on western food in the beachside An Thuong neighborhood. As for Da Nang street food, we’ve found great stands on both sides of the river that should not be missed.

Pro TipGrab provides cost-effective sầu transportation options in và around Da Nang. Download the tiện ích to your điện thoại thông minh before you arrive in Da Nang if you plan to order a car at the airport.

*
Vietnamese street food goes beyond Pho in Da Nang. We ate this Op La at a local stand for breakfast.

As a bonus, eating well in Da Nang won’t break your bank. Adventurous diners can easily spover less than a dollar for noodle and rice dishes at food stalls all over the bustling city. These stalls, with simple tables and plastic chairs, may not be fancy but you won’t care about decor once you taste the fresh, bright, homestyle flavors of the food.

*
Spices và herbs abound in Da Nang – even in bowls costing around a dollar.

To us, eating classic Vietnamese food on little plastic chairs with locals is the essence of Danang food… but the city’s fine dining scene is equally exciting.

*
Many Da Nang visitors only eat street food. However, the city’s fine dining scene is burgeoning at restaurants.

Our Da Nang food guide includes plenty of cheap eats as well as the best restaurants in Da Nang. We recommkết thúc spots on both sides of the Han River plus plenty of bars where you can wet your whistle with a beer, cocktail or cappuccino.

*
It’s almost always Beer O’Cloông xã in Da Nang.

Don’t worry if you don’t eat meat – that’s the opposite of a problem in Da Nang. In other words, you won’t go hungry or thirsty with this Da Nang guide.

Traditional Vietnamese Restaurants

*
In Da Nang, each Com Ga siêu thị prepares chicken & rice with their own technique. At Com Ga A Hai, employees fry roasted chicken pieces to crispy perfection.

Vietnamese food keeps pulling us baông chồng khổng lồ Vietphái mạnh. We literally dream about traditional Vietnamese food favorites when we’re based in other parts of the world.

You may be unfamiliar with Da Nang food as we were before our first visit. The food of Da Nang may not be as famous as Hanoi’s Pho and Hue’s Bun Bo, but the local Central Vietnamese thành phố holds its own in comparison lớn the rest of the Southeast Asian country.

*
Move over Pho. Da Nang has its own regional cuisine with dishes lượt thích Mi Quang & Bun Cha Ca.

Though you may be able to lớn find local favorites lượt thích Mì Quảng and Bánh Xèo in other Vietnamese cities, you haven’t truly tasted these dishes until you eat them in Da Nang. Getting hungry? Read on khổng lồ see what you’ll be eating when you visit Da Nang.

Quang Style Noodles (Mì Quảng)
*
This Mi Quang breakfast of champions cost under $5 US for two people including drinks. cảnh báo the fresh herbs & various condiments on the table.

Mi Quang – It’s what for breakfast in Da Nang.

Not to lớn be confused with the cống phẩm of the same name in Hoi An, Da Nang’s Mi Quang is a hearty concoction of wide rice noodles served atop a beefy broth with a choice of proteins & condiments. Think of Mi Quang as Vietnam’s answer lớn tagliatelle in Bologmãng cầu, Italy.

Read lớn discover the best noodle dishes around the world.

In Da Nang, Mi Quang is served for breakfast just about everywhere and costs around trăng tròn,000 dong (about $0.90 USD). However, we recommend Mi Quang Ba Mua if you’re looking for a slightly better bowl of Mi Quang. This local chain serves a higher unique, slightly costlier version with more seasoned noodles & tastier broth along with a wide range of protein choices.

Pro TipDon’t skip the crispy cracker if you’re feeling extra hungry or want a bit of a crunch with your bowl of Mi Quang.

Mi Quang Ba Mua has multiple locations in Da Nang. We frequented the location at 40 Ngũ Hành Sơn, Bắc Mỹ Phú, Ngũ Hành Sơn, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam giới.

Sizzling pancakes are just part of a Banh Xeo feast at Bà Dưỡng in Da Nang. Other elements include rice paper, cabbage, cucumbers, herbs, liver sauce và meat on a stichồng.

Banh Xeo is served in slightly different incarnations all over South Vietphái nam, but there’s nothing quite like the Banh Xeo served in Da Nang at Bánh Xèo Bà Dưỡng (pronounced bah zwong). To the unfamiliar, Banh Xeo, which translates to sizzling pancakes, are rice và turmeric flour crepes filled with bean sprouts, shrimp & pork.

At Bà Dưỡng, Banh Xeo are piled high on platters along with side dishes of cucumbers, greens lượt thích mint & lettuce, raw bean sprouts, kebab-lượt thích sausage on wooden sticks và ultra-thin rice paper wrappers. The idea is khổng lồ wrap the Banh Xeo inside the thin rice wrappers along with as many sides that you can fit in.

Here’s the best part: You dip the wraps in the greachạy thử sauce on earth – a special savory concoction made of peanut and pork liver. Bà Dưỡng’s version of this savory, creamy, funky sauce truly separates the restaurant from all other Banh Xeo joints in Da Nang.

Bà Dưỡng is a large ultra-bright space with a number of tables suited to both a group of four or a large buổi tiệc ngọt of friends. The White room buzzes with excitement with a crowd of Da Nang locals happily munching on their Banh Xeo.

Arriving at Bà Dưỡng at night may be the most special part of the dining experience. The restaurant is located at the end of one of the most charming Da Nang downtown alleys adorned with hanging multi-colored lights that will make you feel like you’re headed toward Banh Xeo heaven.

Pro TipIf you can’t figure out how lớn eat your Bành Xéo just look toward a nearby table & observe how the locals vì chưng it. You’ll get the hang quickly.

Bánh Xèo Bà Dưỡng is located at 14 Hoàng Diệu, Bình Hiên, Q. Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietphái mạnh.

If you’ve sầu eaten Bun Cha & Cha Ca in Hanoi, then you may have sầu an idea of what Bun Cha Ca is all about. You’re wrong.

We went to Bún Chả Cá Hờn on the city side of Da Nang to try this regional Vietnamese food favorite. Upon arrival, we found big bowls of fish broth loaded with fish cakes, Bun (vermicelli rice noodles), cabbage, tomato lớn, pinehãng apple và bamboo shoots. We added fresh herbs and pickled veggies plus Mắm Ruốc (shrimp paste) to lớn the bowl because that’s what you vì chưng in Da Nang when you eat Bun Cha Ca.

Just one slurp was a revelation. The broth was more complex than Pho with a fishiness that didn’t overpower the soup’s other flavors. The fish cakes were spongy enough khổng lồ be interesting. And the added fermented shrimp paste gave sầu the bowl a funkiness that travelers either love sầu or hate. We loved it.

Pro TipLocals typically eat Bun Cha Ca for breakfast but you can eat it for lunch or dinner too.

Bún Chả Cá Hờn is located at 113/3 Nguyễn Chí Tkhô cứng, Hải Châu 1, Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam.

Soon after our arrival in Da Nang, we received a tip from savvy expat Sam McCommon. He recommended his favorite Banh Canh shop diagonally across from the Vinmart on Châu Thị Vĩnh Tế in Da Nang’s beachside, expat-dominated Mỹ An district.

This tip created three questions: 1. What the hechồng is Banh Canh? 2. When is this restaurant, called Bìch Bánh Canh, ever open? (We walked past the stvà a number of times with little success.) 3. How good is this place?

We found our answers lớn all of the above questions.

First & most important, Banh Canh noodles are extruded medium thick noodles made from either tapioca flour, rice flour or a combination of both served in a rich broth.

*
If you’ve never eaten Banh Canh then you’re missing out. Look at the array of flavors on this table.

At Bìch Bánh Canh, noodles are served in a beefy broth with a small morsel of pork short rib on the bone along with slices of Vietnamese fish cake. Bìch serves their brothy stew with boned shaped fresh fry bread (Bánh Quẩy) for dipping.

The soup at Bìch Bánh Canh is rich and sophisticated, the noodles have an al dente chewiness chất lượng to glassy tapioca noodles và the thiông xã slices of pork are a tasty, homey treat. The broth absorbing, donut-like Banh Quay bread adds extra texture & flavor.

Bargain hunters will be happy to lớn hear we regularly ate at Bìch Bánh Canh for less than the equivalent of $3 US for two people. And who doesn’t like a bargain when it tastes this good?

Pro TipBìch Bánh Canh is open most days of the week from 3 pm until the siêu thị runs out of food around 8 pm. (We’re still trying to lớn figure out whether they cđại bại on Sunday or Monday. Ahh, the joys of business ownership in Vietnam!)

Bich Banh Canh is located at 178 Châu Thị Vĩnh Tế, Bắc Mỹ Prúc, Ngũ Hành Sơn, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam giới.

*
Though Pho is more of a typical breakfast food in Hanoi & Saigon, the iconic Vietnamese food is also available in Da Nang.

Unlike Saigon and Hanoi, Da Nang is not a big Pho city, with most people starting their day with local specialties like Mi Quang instead. However, we get that some visitors to Vietnam want Pho regardless of the thành phố. If you’re one of those visitors, you’ll find a plethora of Pho shops sprinkled throughout Da Nang.

Phở 75 is a decent spot for a morning bowl of southern Pho. After customers choose noodles & proteins, workers ladle their slightly sweet soup out và serve it Saigon-style with lots of condiments. We opted for beef và meatballs for our proteins and Pho noodles of course. Fresh herbs, hot bean sprouts as well as hot & sweet sauces completed our Pho creations.

Pro TipSpecify that you want a Tô Lớn (i.e. big) bowl of Pho. Otherwise, you will be charged for a Tô Đặc Biệt (special) bowl of Pho. The difference between the two is seemingly negligible.

Phở 75 is located at Q. Hải Châu, 62 Ngô Gia Tự, Q. Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng, Vietphái mạnh.

Banh Mi is the unofficial snaông chồng in Da Nang with vendors all over town selling sandwiches from Mobile metal carts. Though nearby Hoi An arguably serves the best Banh Mi sandwiches in Vietnam, Da Nang’s sandwich game is svào và rarely disappoints in terms of unique, creativity & selection.

*
The good sisters at Banh Mi Thit Heo Quay don’t mess around when they make their popular morning sandwiches. Their stand closes when they run out of food, which is usually around or before 10 am.

Most Da Nang Banh Mi vendors sell sandwiches loaded with pork, paxẻ, veggies, herbs and chili sauce, though others set it up with toppings lượt thích chicken và pork floss. Some even prepare Banh Mi on round Portuguese rolls. Once you find one you love sầu, you’ll surely be baông xã for one of the best sandwiches in the world.

Pro TipPrices vary between 10,000 lớn 25,000 dong depending on the location và the mood of the vendor. You’ll rarely spend more than the equivalent of $1 US for a Banh Mi in Da Nang.

Banh Mi Thit Heo Quay is located at 24 Phan Đình Phùng, Hải Châu 1, Q. Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam.

Bep Hen is a great choice for travelers wanting lớn try homestyle Vietnamese food. Unlượt thích the typical Mi Quang or Banh Canh shachồng, Bep Hen prepares the kind of food that Vietnamese families enjoy around their dinner table. This city-side restaurant serves homestyle food in an eclectically decorated multi-màn chơi restaurant. Expect big flavors for reasonable prices when you dine at Bep Hen.

The thực đơn spans multiple pages & includes dozens of options including soups & dishes with vegetables, tofu, eggs, fish, shrimp, pork và chicken. Despite exotic ingredients like fermented shrimp paste and bitter melon, most dishes at Bep Hen are accessible for all levels of eaters.

Pro TipThe restaurant’s name translates to lucky kitchen, which is how we felt when we joined friends for dinner at Bep Hen.

Bep Hen Restaurant is located at 47 Lê Hồng Phong, Phước Ninch, Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam giới.

*
If you think chicken và rice is boring, think again. Com Ba A Hai serves versions with shredded chicken and whole pieces.

If Mi Quang is what’s for breakfast then Cơm or rice is what’s for lunch. You’ll find food lượt thích Mi Quang or Pho if you look hard enough, but, if you need lunch và need it quickly, you’ll easily find a huge number of Com places in the afternoon around Da Nang.

While these rice stalls serve a variety of meats to customers, two seem lớn be the most common: Rice with grilled pork chop (Cơm Sườn Nướng) và Chicken Rice (Cơm Gà). Some stands sell long grain rice while others sell cơm tấm, Vietnamese broken rice with shorter grains that are broken when milled.

Many of these rice stands are lượt thích cafeterias in the United States. Along with the choices outlined above sầu, other options include a variety of meat và fish as well as sunny side up eggs và tofu. However, some stands only serve sầu chicken.

*
Crowds floông chồng lớn Cơm Gà A Hải where part of the fun is watching busy cooks in action. These cooks fry precooked birds which are tightly stacked in large baskets, ready for a trip lớn the wok for their crunchy finish.

Cơm Gà A Hải is a large stand in Hải Châu that specializes in Chicken Rice, frying their roasted unbreaded birds in a wok and serving them with bright orange annato lớn rice. The resulting chicken is super flavorful with a slight crunch – ikhuyến mãi for a great lunch in Da Nang.

You can order your chicken either whole, in parts or shredded. We recommkết thúc you order whole pieces of chicken since the Vietnamese prefer rubbery textures of skin or cartilage in their shredded meats.

Pro TipHungry for chicken and rice for dinner instead of lunch? Cơm Gà A Hải is open until midnight seven days a week.

Cơm Gà A Hải is located at 94 – 100 Thái Phiên, Phước Ninc, Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam giới.

Thanks lớn a coffee cửa hàng recommendation, we were pleased khổng lồ find Quán Bánh Bơ, a business whose name literally translates khổng lồ Butter Cake Shop. What could be bad about butter cakes?

As it turns out, these butter cakes are even better than we expected. The shop’s staff fries the sweet yet savory treats to order & serves them with chili sauce. These puffy, yeasty treats have sầu traces of corn in their flavor protệp tin but the dense, airy texture reminds us of donuts.

*
Chili sauce on donuts? Yes! It’s a new guilty pleasure, at least while we’re in Da Nang.

Locals queue up to buy bags of Bánh Bơ to lớn take away, but we prefer eating them in the cửa hàng when they’re hot off the griddle. As a bonus, it’s easier to drizzle chili sauce when sitting down.

Pro TipOn a budget? Six of these bad boys cost the equivalent of $1.25 US at the time of our visits. Score!

Quán Bánh Bơ is located at 55 Bà Huyện Thanh hao Quan, Bắc Mỹ An, Ngũ Hành Sơn, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam.

With its long coastline & active fishing culture, Da Nang is one of the premier Vietphái mạnh locations khổng lồ enjoy a seafood feast. Scores of seafood restaurants line fill the city’s beachfront, many crowded with boisterous tourists happy lớn spover their vacation dollars on plates topped with freshly cooked shellfish và hotpots loaded with Vietphái nam fruits de mer.

As budget-conscious food travelers, we targeted Nam Danh Seafood on our quest to find where locals eat seafood in Da Nang. In a nutshell (or should we say clamshell?), we wanted to lớn eat amazing dishes without breaking our ngân hàng. Off the beaten trachồng in the Son Tra neighborhood, Nam Danh met all of our Da Nang seafood goals.

Locals flock to Nam Danh khổng lồ eat seafood lượt thích crab, squid, octopus, snails, oysters & clams. For our meal, we shared heaping plates of grilled shrimp, grilled oysters with green onions, spicy cuttlefish and crabs in a spicy tamarind sauce.

Flavors were big during our seafood feast but prices were small. Our bill for all this food plus beer was less than the equivalent of $12 US for both of us.

Pro TipUse Google Maps or another mapping tool lớn find Nam Danh Seafood. This restaurant is located on an alley several blocks from busy streets.

Splurging on a luxury meal in Da Nang completes any exploration of the city’s culinary scene. We splurged on lunch at La Maison 1888 where we ate this bowl of Tomato Soup with jambon cru, xanh cheese, fresh soya, carpaccio of marinated mackerel with yuzu & blachồng pepper.

Many tourists solely focus on cheap eats at local Da Nang restaurants. We get that. Expats & Vietphái nam digital nomads often travel with tight budgets. However, overly frugal travelers are missing out on an important aspect of the Da Nang cuisine story.

Top Da Nang restaurants combine local Vietnamese ingredients with global culinary techniques. The results are often exciting và frequently extraordinary.

We recommkết thúc the following restaurants when you choose khổng lồ splurge in Da Nang:

“The cuisine of Pierre Gagnaire is art. It is love. It is technique.”

Recognized by the World Travel Awards as the world’s leading fine dining hotel restaurant, La Maison 1888 is the most splurge-worthy restaurant in Da Nang – if not in all of Vietnam. Pierre Gagnaire brings the expertise of a three Michelin star chef to La Maison 1888 where his culinary team serves French cuisine in a classic colonial setting.

The lauded restaurant’s accolades and pedigree inspired us to lớn make a lunch reservation. We were curious about how a Vietnamese hotel would approach the highest màn chơi of French dining. Since Gagnaire isn’t physically on the property at all times, we wondered if his vision would be achieved during our lunch.

After our bite into lớn martini olive gelee cubes, we were entranced. By the time we popped Parmesan balls masquerading as gougères inlớn our mouths, we were convinced that food travelers can enjoy an exquisite French meal in Da Nang. Four courses later, we knew that we had experienced a world-class meal in one of the world’s most beautiful dining rooms.

*
Ton Van Nho (Nick) provided impeccable service during our lunch at La Maison 1888 from the amuse bouches to these petit fours.

Dining at La Maison 1888 is not something that travelers can choose khổng lồ vì chưng on a lark. The restaurant requires advance reservations and institutes a dress code. While less costly by western standards, La Maison is substantially more expensive sầu than the typical Da Nang restaurant – and that’s before the cost of a Grab oto or taxi is contemplated.

With these caveats in mind, we say plan ahead and go to La Maison 1888 for lunch or dinner. Start or end your meal with drinks at the L_O_N_G Bar (see below). When you look back on your Da Nang vacation, this meal will likely be a highlight, if not THE highlight, of the entire trip.

Pro TipIf you’re on a budget, consider lunch instead of dinner. The cost is lower but the experience is spectacular.

La Maison 1888 is located at Hoàng Sa, Thọ Quang, Sơn Trà, Đà Nẵng, Vietphái mạnh.

*
Banh Hoi Thit Quay, Roasted Pork Wrapped in Lace Rice Sheets features delicate nets of rice noodles topped with savory pork.

Local Danang restaurant Nén celebrates local food while elevating it to the next màn chơi. Though popular with Korean, Chinese & Japanese tourists staying at 5-star Danang hotels, Nén is not yet on the radar for many western travelers but it should be.

Helmed by local food celebrity Summer Le, Nén offers a fine dining option in Da Nang with its upscale dining room and three degustation menus. The restaurant recommends its refined Vietnamese menu for first-time visitors và its new Vietnamese menu for adventurous diners. Vegans and Vegetarians get a green menu as a third option.

*
This Bun Bo is one of Che Le’s favorites. The spicy lemongrass soup was loaded with beef shank, meatballs & rice vermicelli.

As both first-time visitors và adventurous diners, we were torn on which tasting thực đơn lớn order for our meal. Since Nén’s policy does not allow tables khổng lồ select different menus, we ultimately opted for the refined Vietnamese thực đơn to sample elevated versions of regional food favorites lượt thích a beefy brothed Bún Bò and delicate nests of Bánh Hỏi rice noodles.

Pro TipExpect a multi-course extravaganza when you dine at Nén. Servers present the three courses with finesse, taking time to lớn explain each dish.

Nén was located at Lô trăng tròn Mỹ Đa Tây 2, Khuê Mỹ, Ngũ Hành Sơn, Đà Nẵng, Vietnam. It is now permanently closed.

Opened by Chizuru Tanaka, a native sầu of Kobe nhật bản, Fish Dance Cafe serves sushi and sashimi in a serene two-story restaurant. Though Tanaka sources ultra-fresh fish from local vendors, she imports wasabi và other ingredients from Japan. The results are as good as sushi and sashingươi we’ve eaten in Osaka.

Don’t worry if you’re not a bạn of raw fish. Fish Dance Cafe serves cooked specialties lượt thích smoked oysters & smoked duchồng. But, if you’re a tín đồ like us, this is where you should eat in Da Nang when you want to lớn scratch your sushi itch.

Pro TipGo lớn Fish Dance Cafe during lunch time và order the sashimi lunch phối with saltháng, fatty tuna & mackerel plus miso soup, steamed rice & pickled vegetables. For the equivalent of $12 (subject lớn change), the set is a tremendous value considering its quantity and unique.

Fish Dance Cafe was located at 32 Phan Bội Châu, Thạch Thang, Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietphái mạnh. It is now permanently closed.

Pizza 4P’s is not shy with their burrata. Hidden beneath the creamy goodness is an anchovy pie.

Since pizza is more of a luxury food in Vietphái mạnh due khổng lồ specialty ingredients like cheese and cured meat, it’s important khổng lồ know where to lớn find the best pizza in any given Vietnamese thành phố. Da Nang has several pizzerias on both sides of the river, but the best Da Nang pizza is at Pizza 4P’s.

Originally opened in Saigon by Japanese expats who fell in love sầu with Neapolirã pizza, 4P’s has multiple locations in Ho Chi Minh City and Hanoi plus one in Da Nang. Beyond ingredient sourcing, the owners’ impeccable attention lớn the art of pizza making is exemplary.

You’ll find the similarity lớn Neapolichảy pizza khổng lồ be startling but also unique twists like whole, creamy burrata & housemade chili sauce. The Da Nang location serves a few special pies as well as a signature Yuzu Wheat beer crafted by local brewery Seven Bridges (see below).

Pro TipMake an advance reservation khổng lồ avoid pizza disappointment. Pizza 4P’s is one of the most popular Danang restaurants.

Pizza 4P’s is located at 8 Hoàng Văn Thụ, Phước Ninh, Đà Nẵng, 550000, Vietphái nam.

There are a number of restaurants along the Han River offering a great view of the Dragon Bridge on weekend nights & Fatfish is one of them. This restaurant serves a variety of Asian, French and Italian classics along with good, but not great, pizza. Luckily, 4p’s (see above) is nearby if you’re in the mood for great pizza.

The picture above says it all with its combination of soba noodles, green beans & magret de canard. (The duông xã breast was tasty despite being a tad overcooked to medium well.)

In our view, Fatfish is a great place to lớn enjoy a western-style, riverside, moderately priced splurge meal. When you go, be sure khổng lồ order a craft beer lớn go with your food.

Pro TipIf you’re craving a western treat after your dinner there’s a Baskin Robbins right down the street. This may not sound special but, if you’ve been in Vietphái nam for a while, there’s nothing like a cone of Rocky Road to lớn end your evening.

Fatfish Restaurant & Lounge Bar is located at 439 Đường Trần Hưng Đạo, An Hải Trung, Sơn Trà soát, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietphái mạnh.

As much as we adore traditional Vietnamese food and the occasional splurge meal, sometimes we want to eat global cuisine that reminds us of trang chính. Based on the number of international restaurants in Da Nang, we’re not chất lượng in this regard.

A popular holiday destination for Asian nationals & a growing expat enclave, Da Nang has restaurants that represent the gamut of global cuisine at all price points. After eating at many of these restaurants for ‘research purposes’, these are our favorites spots for global cuisine in Da Nang:

American Barbecue
*
The Big Bubcha platter at Eazy Pickens is big enough to giới thiệu with two different meats, two different sides, handmade pickles and a dinner roll.

Having traveled the world for years, we’ve grown skeptical when locals recommover American food overseas. We’ve sầu been through the disappointment of hamburgers that taste lượt thích meatloaf, overpriced guacamole mixed tableside (you had lớn see that to believe sầu it) & tacos that taste more like falafels.

So when we were told that Eazy Pickins was the real khuyễn mãi giảm giá, we couldn’t hide our skepticism.

But North Carolina native Jonni Olivares’ barbecue is the real khuyễn mãi giảm giá. Don’t doubt our credentials. We’ve eaten world-class BBQ in American cities like Lockhart, Memphis and Kansas City as well as in global cities including Helsinki & Paris.

Olivares’ ridiculously meaty ribs, which he smokes from pork he specially imports from the USA, rank with the best we’ve tasted, và his locally sourced pulled pork lives up lớn his Carolimãng cầu roots.

Eazy Pickins smokey fare is served six nights a week with three excellent sauces that include red “North Carolina Pig Pickin” (Mindi’s favorite) & blond “Carolina Gold Sauce” (Daryl’s favorite).

Pro TipDon’t skip the excellent sides. Our favorite is the creamy mac n cheese.

Eazy Pickins was located at 6 Trần Văn Dư, Mỹ An, Ngũ Hành Sơn, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam giới. It is now permanently closed.

Torino’s focaccia is one of our favorite things lớn eat in Da Nang. Between their two variations, we prefer the focaccia with blaông chồng olives & red tomatoes.

Italian food is a treat for many long-term travelers who love sầu pizza and pasta. Since we fit into this category, we were pleased lớn discover Torino, a local favorite that has been serving a full menu of Italian classics since 2004. With an owner originally from Torino và a chef who trained a Scuola Arte Bianca, Torino is fully committed to lớn serving Italian cuisine.

Though we enjoyed taking a nostalgic trip to Italy when we shared a pizza & bowl of pasta at Torino, we prefer visiting this restaurant in the morning. Outstanding bakery items lượt thích croissants và focaccia give Mi Quang a run for its money when it comes to where to eat the best breakfast in Da Nang.

Pro TipNot in the mood to walk for your morning croissant? Torino delivers their baked items for không lấy phí within a three-kilometer radius và for a nominal fee for those further away.

Torino Restaurant và Bakery is located at 164 Châu Thị Vĩnh Tế, Bắc Mỹ Prúc, Ngũ Hành Sơn, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam.

Considering the relatively cthảm bại proximity between Vietphái nam and Đài Loan Trung Quốc, you might think that there’s a lot of good Chinese food in Da Nang. You would be incorrect with a few exceptions.

On the beach side of Da Nang, Bao Đại Nhân fills the Chinese food void with a thực đơn full of Chinese classics. Creatures of habit, we typically order tofu with cayenne pepper (Bao Đại Nhân’s awesome take on Mapo Tofu) and dumplings with mushroom & meat lớn mô tả for dinner. Both dishes are addictive for these two fans of bold Chinese flavors.

Pro TipVietnamese beer goes just fine with Chinese food. Don’t hesitate to lớn order a bottle or two with your meal.

Bao Đại Nhân was located at 14 An Thượng 3, Bắc Mỹ Phú, Ngũ Hành Sơn, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam. It is now permanently closed.

The hamburger is a global phenomenon that can’t be stopped. We’ve sầu eaten great burgers in cities like Lyon & bad burgers in cities that shall go unnamed. Now we can add Da Nang khổng lồ our ever growing good hamburger thành phố list.

You’ll find the city’s best hamburgers & fries at Burger Bros., a popular st& owned by a Japanese surfer and popular with Korean tourists. Apparently, a Korean celebrity was filmed eating there và added to the joint’s cult status.

With the mantra “no burger, no life”, Burger Bros. serves hamburgers, chicken burgers, pork burgers, fish burgers & veggie burgers. Heông chồng, they even serve sầu chili burgers. Double burgers are also on the thực đơn but that may just be overkill… or is it?

Burger Bros. is located at 31 An Thượng 4, Bắc Mỹ Phụ, Ngũ Hành Sơn, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam.

After eating top-notch ramen in Tokyo, Osaka and Thủ đô New York, it’s fair to say that we know good ramen when we slurp it. In Da Nang, we slurped good ramen at Chin Meshi.

Located around the corner from Brewman Coffee (see below), Chin Meshi serves Japanese favorites and Sichuan dishes (think ma po tofu). We enjoyed big bowls of miso and shoyu ramen during our visit there. The flavors took us straight bachồng lớn Japan but the prices were lower since we were in Vietphái mạnh. Winning!

Chin Meshi is located at 23 Thái Phiên, Phước Ninh, Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam.

You’re missing out if you haven’t eaten a taco topped with crispy chicken and wasabi coleslaw.

Taco NGON may be the most truly global restaurant in all of Da Nang. Why? This casual eatery serves Taiwanese influenced Mexican tacos prepared by Vietnamese cooks.

Not only does Taco NGON make its own tortillas, but it also lets diners ‘fuse’ their own topping combinations. Protein options include pork, fish, chicken and tofu. The fun comes from creative toppings lượt thích wasabi coleslaw, yogurt salsa, ginger lime và tamarind BBQ sauce.

NGON literally translates khổng lồ tasty. We’re pleased to lớn report that Taco NGON lives up to its name. As if that’s not enough, diners get a không tính phí taco for every ten they order.

Pro TipYou won’t be disappointed if you like tequila with your tacos. Tateo NGON’s menu includes both tequila shots & margaritas.

Eating Korean BBQ in Da Nang makes perfect sense considering the vast number of Korean tourists who fly to lớn their version of Miangươi Beach every day of the week. Da Nang’s Korean BBQ restaurants cater lớn these tourists by cooking up all kinds of meat and serving them with an array of Korean side dishes.

Curious to lớn try the local version of this international cuisine, we popped into lớn The Galbi right near our Danang beach apartment. Decorated with animated pigs & staffed with uniformed servers, the open-air The Galbi looks like a Korean BBQ joint should look. But how was the food?

Since galbi literally translates from Korean to lớn rib in English, Beef Rib Prime is the top thành tích on the menu. We skipped this option at the equivalent of $22.50 US for 200 grams & instead ordered 400 grams of Charcoal Bulgogi for the equivalent of $13.50 US.

Though many consider Korean barbecue khổng lồ be a splurge meal in Da Nang, we found the meal khổng lồ be a tremendous value. Not only did we have sầu plenty of meat to lớn tóm tắt, but servers brought a feast of Korean side dishes & condiments to lớn our table along with the meat.

We didn’t know where to start as the little plates kept appearing on our table. Once we got our bearings, we dug into lớn the kimchee và didn’t stop digging until the last piece of lettuce was history.

Pro TipDon’t feel compelled khổng lồ order starters or sides at The Galbi. These items are all included when you order meat.

The Galbi is located at 129-130 Hoàng Kế Viêm, Bắc Mỹ Prúc, Ngũ Hành Sơn, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietnam.

Fried chicken is one of those foods that’s so wrong that it’s right. We wouldn’t want to lớn eat it every night due to lớn factors like cholesterol and calories, but we must admit khổng lồ enjoying fried chicken every once in a while.

Most of the great fried chicken we’ve eaten has been in American cities like New Orleans và Nashville. While the chicken we’ve sầu eaten at Da Nang’s Gà Rán Mr Thịnh may not quite rival Willie Mae’s or Prince’s in originality, the local Da Nang chicken chain comes pretty darn cđại bại in quality.

Discover more of the best fried chicken in the world.

Budget travelers will scurry when they learn that a plump piece of fried chicken with fries costs the equivalent of a US dollar. If there’s a better fried chicken bargain in Da Nang, we have sầu yet to find it.

Pro TipDon’t expect an American sized portion of fries at Gà Rán Mr Thịnh. The staff weighs the precious cargo for each order.

Gà Rán Mr Thịnh has multiple locations in Da Nang.

Vegetarian food is easy to find in Da Nang. We ate this mushroom dish at ROM – Revolution of Mushroom.

Even though we’re not Vegetarians or Vegans, we respect that many of our readers choose this culinary lifestyle. As such, we scoured Da Nang for the best meat-free options & present the following recommendations:

ROM – Revolution of Mushroom – Permanently Closed

We can’t say that we’re the world’s most vegetally focused food travelers, but when we taste vegetarian cuisine that piques our palates, we definitely take notice. Such is the case with ROM – Revolution of Mushroom.

Anyone who cooks should know that mushrooms are the one food outside the animal kingdom that generates the kind of deep umami-filled flavors that complete a meal. We don’t know if the food is truly ‘revolutionary’ at ROM but simple dishes lượt thích spicy noodles (Korean style) và mushroom fried rice offer deep flavors that will satisfy even the hungriest of carnivores.

We should also mention that ROM’s dining room in a charming romantic upstairs space is a great spot for a quiet, romantic dinner for two. Better yet, join a couple friends so you can order more dishes lớn chia sẻ.

Pro TipThe thực đơn, which offers cheese items, is not strictly Vegan but there are more than enough Vegan options if that’s how you roll.

ROM – Revolution of Mushroom was located at 87 Đường Hoàng Văn Thụ, Phước Ninc, Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietphái nam. It has permanently closed.

As our readers are well aware, the yellowcabpizza.vn are big fans of third wave sầu coffee drinks like cappuccinos, lattes và flat whites. We always seek the best coffee wherever we travel. Da Nang is no exception to lớn this rule.

In Da Nang, sophisticated coffee drinkers no longer have sầu lớn settle for overly sweet, overly bitter Ca Phe Sua (i.e. Vietnamese coffee) served in generic cafes. The city serves quality coffee on both sides of the river at coffee shops ranging from intimate cafes to modern coffee palaces.

And the best part? All of our recommended Da Nang coffee shops have great internet for digital nomads.

Gold Star Coffee – Permanently Closed

Nguyen Thi Klặng Hue is one of our favorite Da Nang baristas at Gold Star Coffee. She always greets us with cold water & a warm smile.

It’s rare to lớn use value-priced and specialty coffee in the same sentence. Gold Star Coffee bucks this trkết thúc by serving excellent coffee at prices that make us scratch our heads & smile.

Don’t get us wrong – there’s plenty of cheaper coffee in Da Nang. However, Gold Star isn’t your typical Da Nang coffee siêu thị. It’s a legitimate coffe where baristas prepare specialty coffee drinks with care và serve sầu them with smiles & glasses of cold water.

Small and simple, Gold Star’s low tables and overly convivial atmosphere don’t make for a great workspace despite the cafe’s fast mạng internet. However, it’s a great place for a coffee khổng lồ start the day or for a mid-day break with expat friends you already know or are meeting for the very first time.

Pro TipYou can buy ground coffee khổng lồ enjoy at your apartment with a French Press coffee maker.

Gold Star Coffee was located at 14 Ngô Thì Sỹ, Bắc Mỹ An, Ngũ Hành Sơn, Mỹ An Ngũ Hành Sơn Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietphái mạnh. It has permanently closed.

Tucked away off busy Châu Thị Vĩnh Tế, Why Roastery is one of our favorite Da Nang coffee shops due to lớn its chill atmosphere, solid coffee & friendly service. We enjoy working at this coffe và who can blame us.

We lượt thích khổng lồ nab a table in the air-conditioned back room and spover the day at Why with our computers. Drinks are moderately priced và range from lattes và cappuccinos khổng lồ smoothies and fraps.

One note – you’ll either love or hate the cafe’s soundtraông xã with its phối of western và Vietnamese pop music. We find it oddly entertaining.

Pro TipExpect a cookie with your coffee. It’s up lớn you whether you want to dip or dunk it.

Why Roastery was located at 64 Ung Văn Khiêm, Bắc Mỹ Prúc, Ngũ Hành Sơn, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietphái nam. It has permanently closed.

A destination from the day it opened, 43 Factory serves modern coffee và beer in a setting that attracts locals, digital nomads và tourists. These disparate groups may initially visit lớn take a selfie in the striking space designed by 85 Design’s To Huu Dung, but many return to enjoy expertly crafted drinks in a modern, air-conditioned setting.

43 Factory’s coffee-centric menu goes beyond the norm with unique options like nitro lattes served from a tap. The cafe also taps C-Brewmaster craft beer for those more in the mood for an adult beverage. Additionally, 43 Factory offers outdoor table seating nestled in a stylish moat surrounding the coffee siêu thị. The outdoor tables even offer power outlets.

Prices skew higher at 43 Factory, though they’re still lower than western prices by a longshot. Some people may disagree, but we’re happy khổng lồ pay a bit more for chất lượng – especially when it comes lớn coffee. We have no problem spending a bit more to enjoy coffee in 43 Factory’s breathtaking space.

Brewman Coffee Concept is a great option if you’re looking khổng lồ drink coffee in the đô thị. Many of the coffee shops on this side of the river tkết thúc khổng lồ serve the Vietnamese Ca Phe that we eschew, making Brewman a true oasis in a sea of mediocre coffee.

Brewman serves a full range of crafted espresso drinks in a stylish space designed by To Huu Dung of 43 Factory fame. However, the drink lớn try here is the Ca Phe Dua (Coconut Coffee), a sweet treat of a beverage served with a side of cold brew.

Sometimes we just want an omelet for breakfast. That’s when we go to lớn SIX ON SIX Cafe in Da Nang.

SIX ON SIX Cafe is a go-to lớn spot for those days when we’re craving western brunch food like omelets and breakfast burritos. The coffe also serves crafted coffee drinks in a garden setting with both indoor và outdoor table service.

Unlike our other favorite Da Nang coffee shops that source beans from Africa & South America, SIX ON SIX exclusively brews arabica beans from the Central Highlands region of Vietnam. Whether you order a flat Trắng or a Ca Phe, expect Vietnamese coffee beans when you drink coffee at SIX ON SIX.

Pro TipArrive sầu early khổng lồ get a table if you’re planning to lớn work. Some of the tables are more conducive sầu lớn chilling than working.

SIX ON SIX Cafe is located at 14/11 Lưu Quang Thuận, Ngũ Hành Sơn, Đà Nẵng, Vietnam giới.

As much as we don’t lượt thích Vietnamese coffee is as much as we bởi vì lượt thích egg coffee, a decadent variation of Vietnamese coffee that tastes like liquid dessert.

Since egg coffee was invented & perfected in Hanoi, we didn’t expect lớn find a good version in Central Vietnam. Imagine our delight when we found great egg coffee at Nối Cafe in Da Nang.

Nối Cafe is not easy to lớn find since it’s hidden in plain site down an alley. Like many good things in life, it’s worth the extra effort khổng lồ find this đáng yêu cà phê filled with funky Communist design elements. And egg coffee. Don’t forget the egg coffee.

Pro TipDon’t plan khổng lồ drink egg coffee every day while you’re in Da Nang. The rich concoction is more of a special treat than a daily beverage.

Nối Cafe is located at K113/18 Nguyễn Chí Tkhô hanh, Hải Châu 1, Q. Hải Châu, Đà Nẵng 550000, Vietphái nam.

Mixologist Tuan Anh Ho is a fixture in the Da Nang cocktail scene. He created the award-winning Lotus cocktail among muốn many other local favorites.

Da Nang nightlife is not difficult lớn find. From tables full of locals chanting ‘Mot, Hai, Ba! Dzo!‘ as they down large amounts of beer at local cafes lớn expats ordering mojitos at Da Nang bars, nighttime is drinking time in Da Nang. These are our favorites:

The L_O_N_G Bar
*
The long bar is only one distinguishing feature at the L_O_N_G Bar at the InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort. chú ý the classic decor và punkah fans.

The L_O_N_G Bar is the fanciest bar in Da Nang and also the most exclusive. This exclusivity isn’t borne from attitude but rather from the bar’s location at the tony InterContinental Danang Sun Peninsula Resort.

Living up khổng lồ its name, the L_O_N_G Bar is indeed lengthy, providing plenty of spots to lớn sit as well as a row of colorful, pillow-laden daybeds where guests can lounge with an ocean view. Though the ocean provides a pleasant breeze, large punkah fans keep the air swaying while giving the bar a quality aesthetic.

Located steps away from the beach, Wanderlust Cafe và Cocktail Bar is a great place to kichồng baông xã at the over of the day và enjoy drinks with friends. The relaxed, beachy vibe is enough to lớn motivate a visit, but the crafted cocktails motivate visitors to lớn return again và again.

If you’re a bạn or student of mixology, a visit lớn Wanderlust is a must. The only challenge during your visit will be deciding what lớn order. Whatever you choose, there will be no regrets. Not only are the drinks fantastic but they’re also reasonably priced. A true win-win situation!

With 7 Bridges Brewery, Da Nang is a force in Vietnam’s burgeoning craft beer scene. The team at 7 Bridges brews a full selection of beers locally which drinkers can enjoy at bars and hotels throughout the city as well as at the 7 Bridges taproom.

When you drink at 7 Bridges, expect to find a lot of American-style IPA’s. Originally from Southern California, head brewer Darren Provenzao infuses a hoppy touch after a stint at Heart of Darkness in Saigon, one of Vietnam’s top craft breweries.

Though this brewery’s beers mostly feature hoppy flavor profiles, the brewpub offers great options like rich, dark lager in addition lớn its range of IPA standards. My Casa is a restaurant that serves a fun menu with eclectic Spanish & Italian cuisine. To us, though, the real draw is My Casa’s happy hour when tasty cocktails like mojitos và pimãng cầu coladas are available for half the price.

We first visited My Casa for a lãng mạn dinner và returned with friends to tóm tắt a couple rounds of drinks. What can we say? We’re suckers for good drinks và good đơn hàng.
